About
you're in the right place
We build impactful brands and beautiful online experiences that grow your business.

It's kind of our thing!
We're a pack of digital creatives.

Ted Adler
Founder
Ted planted the seeds of Scout Digital from his college dorm room when he created Middkid.com, a more fun alternative to Middlebury College’s official website. Over twenty years later, he still relishes the creativity and entrepreneurship that comes with building websites and digital marketing. He’s also the President of Union Street Media, an agency that develops custom digital marketing and website solutions for real estate.

Nat White-Joyal
President
If you know Scout, you know Nathaniel (Nat). Over the last 10 years, Nat has developed high-performing marketing strategies using video content throughout the sales funnel to drive results. His company White + Joyal Creative was successfully acquired by Scout Digital in 2019. You may recognize our logo as his faithful companion, Yogi.

Emily McMahon
VP of Marketing & Branding
Emily is our digital marketing mechanic. People come to her because they understand the need for marketing, but not how it works – or how to have fun doing it. Recognized as Vermont’s “Rising Star” and a “Woman to Watch” for her innovation, Emily takes an open-minded, data-driven approach to develop highly effective marketing strategies, social media content, and lead generation campaigns that win over your target audience. She’s also the lucky owner of loyal mutt Topper, our “Office Good Boy.”

Jason Brubaker
VP of Accounts
Jason is our VP of Accounts who embodies our shared ethos of “continuous transformation” and “knowing your numbers” because once you do, you can drive more sales. Jason is responsible for building and managing our team of Account Managers that deploy cutting-edge strategies to attract, acquire, and keep customers for less money.
Jason’s career was unlike a lot of marketers where he had the advantage of being in sales, running a business, and knowing what it was like to lose money on failed campaigns. His empathy translated into online marketing, flawlessly, where landing pages, paid media, and marketing funnels became his new digital cold calling.
When Jason isn’t at work, which is funny enough as his hobbies are blogging and selling stuff on the internet he is just like most employees spending time with his wife, daughter, and their little dog, Stella!

Travis Bragg (he/him)
Director of Brand Strategy
As a creative entrepreneur who’s been launching brands for the last seven years, Travis works with you to uncover your secret sauce and transform it into a powerful identity that sets you apart in a crowded digital market. He sets you up for long-term success by getting razor-focused on who you are, what your audience wants, and the values that you share. When he sets a goal, he reaches it – like the time he biked across the country as an 11-year-old.

John Cummin (he/him)
Director of Product Design
John uses his hybrid experience as both a UI/UX designer and a front-end web developer to design stunning screens that run smoothly. He knows how to work within the parameters of tech to craft beautiful user experiences that make you look good while delighting your audience. As a cat lover, he was stoked when his supposedly male cat, Cool Beans, gave birth to his lovable little rascal, Coffee “Mr. Man” Beans.

Jake Isham
Director of Operations
Jake liked Scout Digital so much as a client he came to work for us! Jake empowers clients through our project process because, well, he has been there. His admiration for Scout Digital as a client translates into his understanding, compassion, and deep knowledge of what we do. It doesn’t hurt he ran a pretty successful startup for 5 years. Entrepreneurship is in his DNA.
As an 8th generation Vermonter, and Ben & Jerry, yes… THE Ben & Jerry, as family friends, Jake has leveled up our street cred in the Vermont Entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Mike Mierz (he/him)
Account Executive
Mike has over 10+ years of sales and marketing experience in the industry. Success to him is directly correlated to the number of people he talks to each day. For Mike, sales are all about being direct yet empathetic. When talking with current or potential clients, his goal is to genuinely listen to their needs and get curious about solving their problems. Which leads to ideal relationships with our clients. Often the first point of contact, Mike’s first impression is to spark curiosity.
Mike hails from Colorado, Vermont’s larger brother, and shares in the same love of outdoors, food, and specialty coffee!

Aaron Nevins
Editor & Animator
As a freelance digital artist who has been working in animation, 3D modeling, and video production for 10 years, Aaron works with you to bring your ideas into reality. His clients have ranged from small start-ups looking to promote their passion projects to international businesses such as Microsoft, Swarovski, and Salesforce. While he now carves video clips into compelling narratives, he used to be an ice carver.

Addie Laprey (she/they)
Product Designer
Addie helps you make an impact and look snazzy while you’re at it. With a design process deeply rooted in research, they develop a visual language that tells your story across a wide range of mediums to connect deeply with your audience and help your business flourish. When they’re not designing cool things, you can find them reading sci-fi books – preferably with their feet in a river.

Trevor Brown (he/him)
Developer
Trevor takes beautifully branded designs and brings them to life as fully fleshed-out responsive websites. Through his experience in a wide range of industries and hobbies from carpentry to bartending to auto mechanics, he’s honed a keen attention to detail and a well-rounded knowledge base. He’s happiest learning something new or doing anything outside, especially accompanied by his mid-sized mutt Wilson.

Kyle Morand (he/him)
Developer
Kyle builds websites that work seamlessly across devices and eliminates bugs more skillfully than an exterminator. He brings creativity and a passion for learning to his work, constantly evolving to solve your problems even faster. He’s got three dogs, nine cats, and an unquenchable thirst for brewing beer.

Nick Edwards
Developer
Nick loves a challenge, especially working through complex problems with clients. His 10+ years in web agency work have brought together his love of making things and helping people. Though ‘perfect’ can be the enemy of ‘done,’ Nick is proud of his attention to detail and ability to keep things on track. Nick thrives when given parameters and sees how far he can push the boundaries to solve the problem.
Nick’s cat Hazel, joins our growing team by rounding out our fur-workers. Known for her heart of gold, Hazel is an adorable long-hair Tuxedo/ Maine Coon mix.

Jamie Aponas (she/her)
UX Designer
With a background in UX/UI, packaging, print, and digital marketing strategy, Jamie designs with every touch-point in mind. Whether it’s a business, customer or her local community, she is all about bringing people together. She joined Scout Digital to allow her to do this on a broader scale. If Jamie isn’t at Scout, she is taking advantage of Vermont’s outdoor playground or hunkered down writing in a local cafe.
Lasalle, known affectionately as Lassy, La La or Lols, is her mid-sized Lab-Chihuahua mix. He loves to snuggle up and swipe food out of careless hands.

Roberta Molokandov (she/her)
Digital Strategy Analyst
Roberta provides clients with stories backed by data to help them make sound business decisions. Hailing from a background in data analytics, economics, research, and overall resilience, Roberta values the importance of data but it doesn’t tell the full story. Roberta leads clients to make decisions through her storytelling and aligning their goals.
Roberta loves direct outcomes from her work which motivates her to dig deep into problems to find the best solution. Whether goals are higher-level or specific improvements, she is motivated to thread that narrative back to the client.
When not at Scout, Roberta is where most of our employees are– Outdoors! You will likely see her paddleboarding on the lake or skiing with friends. Also a pet lover, Mini & Rey are her two adorable cats.
FYI, did you know?! Russian was Roberta’s first language, albeit she may not speak it as well as she used to.

Elena Rubinetti (she/her)
Digital Marketing Manager
Did you know we encounter up to 10,000 ads in a day? Elena is working hard to ensure our ad strategy is relevant and valuable to our customers. It isn’t just the narrative of the creative she has to manage; it’s guaranteeing potential customers take meaningful action.
Her background in Digital Marketing for B2B and B2C brands helps her strategize for scale while being mindful of mapping content to clients’ marketing and sales goals. This success comes with a strong empathy for our clients, where she can align their business success with the right tactics and campaigns to ensure results.
Elena enjoys the outdoors outside work, beating her friends at Mario Kart and likely listening to Kendrick Lamar. Expanding Scout Digital’s fur family, her dog Remy and cat Julian have added to our paw team cuteness.

Jack Barnes (he/him)
Content Intern
After spending 8 years behind a camera, Jack knows how to make stunning visual content that cuts through the noise. He pushes creative boundaries and knows the value of a calculated risk, like moving from Vermont to California to study Communications despite the fact that he had never set foot in California before. He’s always open to zany ideas – so let him know what you’ve got!

Brendon Buckley
Digital Strategy Advisor
Brendon’s experience hails from growing digital agencies which piqued his interest in joining Scout Digital. Joining our leadership team, he embodies data-driven marketing. His frameworks align processes and deliverables to enable continuous transformation. Balancing the left and right brain in strategy, UX, and technical teams over his career, he has been a leader in creating immersive experiences.
A recent transplant to southern Vermont from the Boston region, Brendon can be often exploring the outdoors with his wife Kristen either gardening, biking, or trying all the new local restaurants.
At the moment, no dogs but the bigger and goofier the better!

Dan Shedd (he/him)
Freelance Developer
When Scout Digital met Dan we immediately saw his quality code, approach to client communication, and ease of breaking down complex problems. That relationship grew over time from freelancer to Director of Technology. Since Dan joined our team he has helped level up our approach to software development. Since 2012, Dan has been pushing his love of problem-solving and WordPress skills from local restaurants to enterprise organizations.
What might surprise you to learn about Dan? Take your pick! Dan has been a part-time circus performer for 10+ years, toured the US multiple times, and operated a D.I.Y. punk rock record label for 5+ years.

Todd Cummings
Freelance UX/UI Designer
Todd designs websites that provide beautiful, seamless experiences for your audience. He worked as a creative director and senior designer for over a decade before opening his own creative studio and freelancing for Scout. He now has a motorcycle and two cats: an energetic kitten named Pearl and a 10-year-old huntress named Luna who tolerates Pearl…mostly.

Yogi
Chief Scout
When he’s not scouting ahead or chasing off coyotes, Yogi can be seen basking in the sun, receiving pets from clients, and howling when Nat leaves the office.

Topper
Resident Good Boy
Topper takes sleeping on staff feet seriously, occasionally rolling over for scratches from his favorite clients. As the Resident Good Boy, he doesn’t rock the boat, refrains from barking, and listens to commands.
