Creating An Animated Explainer Video for Scout Digital
We wanted to create an animated explainer video to explain, you guessed it, animation. More specifically, we wanted to show how animation can help companies grow their business and their branding.
In order to conduct some A/B testing and continue learning about our own audience, we challenged two of our animators to follow their creative visions to produce two versions of this concept. Once we had all agreed on a theme, a message, and a general concept, they were free to take it in their own direction.
In the concept stage, we came up with a single message that could be a clear takeaway. Then, we put together a script using our targeted SEO keywords to match the overall theme. Following this script and the Scout Digital branding guidelines, our animators came back with two different versions that were structured as an animatic (a storyboard you can watch), then animated. One was based more in iconography, the other followed a more illustrated style, but both brought our messaging to life in a vivid and engaging way.
This approach to animated explainer videos gave us creative liberty at all stages of development, and allowed our team to focus our messaging and branding to be as effective as possible while creating a fun and entertaining piece of content.
