Army Captain Zachary Fike started this nonprofit organization with the intent of returning lost medals of valor to their original recipients. By reworking their site’s architecture to focus on upcoming events and unique stories, we’ve been honored to help bring national attention to PHR.

helping hearts get home
An immersive experience that helps medals get home
Purple Hearts Reunited returns lost or stolen military medals of valor to veterans or their families, in order to honor their sacrifice to the nation. Army Captain Zachary Fike started this non-profit organization a few years ago with the intent of returning lost medals of valor to their original recipients (or their family). We’ve been honored to help take Purple Hearts Reunited from a word-of-mouth organization to a nationally renowned nonprofit that has been covered by shows like American Pickers and Good Morning America.
Most recently, PHR came to us looking to enhance the ways that they were able to share the scope of their work on their site. They had also just had a significant amount of rebranding work done and needed the new site to reflect the same level of quality.

UX Improvements
Focusing on narrative
We reworked the entire information architecture to focus more strongly on upcoming events and a roster of unique “featured hearts” stories that tell an in-depth, media-rich narrative about each medal that PHR has returned. The result is a much more immersive experience that really gives a sense of the individuals Purple Hearts Reunited has helped.
